I love language, and I love the words we use to describe the natural world.
As you can see, I am never far from my pocket notebook and pen on my hikes! I am always writing down observations, ideas, and endless questions to research when I get home.
These notes have then been turned into books and articles--and now this blog--that share what I've learned and experienced.
Here are a few of my books.
Language Making Nature is a handbook and thinking manual for the craft of creating new words. To learn more and purchase copies please visit, www.languagemakingnature.com
This guide to the natural history of Sierra Nevada birds was the result of 15 years researching and recording bird observations all over the Sierra Nevada. Contact me if you'd like to purchase copies.
How would you like a guide to the top 200 wildlife spectacles in the world, arranged week-by-week for the best times to see them? This is a fun fantasy travel book and a great gift for kids. Contact me if you'd like to purchase copies.
